About the Speaker
Ben Downing is the CEO of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience across clean energy, technology, economic development, and public policy. Prior to MassCEC, he held senior leadership roles at The Engine and Nexamp, helping advance innovation and clean energy growth in Massachusetts. He also served for a decade as a Massachusetts State Senator representing 52 communities in Western Massachusetts, including six years as the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy. Ben holds degrees from Providence College and Tufts University and lives in East Boston with his wife and two sons.
